Middleton St George Day Nursery

The Middleton St. George Community Association was established to provide educational, recreational, and social events for the neighborhood's residents as well as to operate and maintain a community centre as a hub for those activities.

With my wife Maria, I moved to Middleton St. George in late September 2018.
Having been in business for most of my working life, I retired in 2016 and have held various voluntary positions of office for several organisations and charities, all involving the building of community relations.
When we relocated to Middleton St. George, I wanted to get active in the neighbourhood, so I offered to assist with the community centre and was elected as a Trustee early in 2019.
I took on the roles of Secretary and Acting Chairman in May 2019 and Acting Treasurer in July 2019, respectively.
My family and I relocated to Middleton St. George in 1996, and we stayed there for 15 years until relocating to the outskirts of Darlington.
I have a range of life experiences and abilities that I can bring to MSGCA as a Trustee to help the community. I retired from the Police Force after 30 years of service.
I moved here recently and wanted to get involved, so in 2019 I joined the Community Association as a Trustee.
I arrived at the village in the middle of 2021.
Since then, I've frequented the Community Center and valued it as a location to get exercise and interact with others.
I'm eager to continue and improve the services the Community Center provides to Middleton St. George as a whole.
I've been a member of the Community Association committee since 2014, and from 2017 to 2022, I served as vice chair.
In 2005, my husband and I relocated from Hurworth to the village because we wanted to be a part of the neighbourhood.
I believe I can assist your Community Center improve in my capacity as a Trustee.
After 43 years of service with Darlington Borough Council, I just retired. During that time, I developed a great quantity of contacts and experience in event planning and town centre partnerships.
I want to use my knowledge to help the Trustees plan and carry out the projects and events for the community centres.
I participate in Darlington for Culture, the Darlington Community Carnival, and the Darlington Dance Festival Association as a committee member.
As a Trustee, I am thrilled about my responsibilities and am looking forward to getting to know the locals.
