Little Owls Woodland Preschool

Our Ofsted-registered Woodland Preschool at Itchen Valley Country Park offers children over 2 years and 9 months the chance to begin their educational journey in a lovely, outdoor setting. The preschool is nestled in its own quiet, self-contained woodland.
Our modest, amiable team of employees works hard to provide the kids with a supportive environment.
Little Owls adopts The Forest School Ethos supporting fundamental first-hand experiences whilst encouraging safe risk taking.
They gain knowledge via interaction with nature and special hands-on opportunities, developing talents they would not have had the chance to develop at home or in school.
We have fantastic decking with a canopy for when it rains, a bonfire, outside washing facilities, and a nice mud kitchen for the kids to play in.
Although the most of the time the kids are outside playing and running around, there is indoor space available should they choose to use it.
Through a creative and child-centered approach to learning, we are able to meet the needs for early learning.
The natural environment and each child's inquisitive mind are used by the staff to creatively educate all curriculum subjects.

I have yet to come across a Little Owl that doesn't enjoy being there.
During the academic year, Little Owls is open from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday through Thursday.
The kids are prepared for anything as long as they are clothed appropriately!
