The sole Outstanding hospital in the East Midlands, Kings Mill Hospital, where 90% of our services are provided, received an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission in May 2020. All 15 of our services are rated Good for Safety, with five services receiving an Outstanding rating. Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital both received Good ratings.
Our employees provide safe, patient-centered care, and in 2018 and 2019, Sherwood colleagues rated us as the best acute trust in the Midlands. We were the highest rated Acute Trust in the East Midlands in 2019 according to the Freedom to Speak Up Index.
In Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, Sherwood, and some areas of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, we offer first-rate healthcare to 500,000 people from contemporary facilities and increasingly all across the community. In our three hospitals, Kings Mill, Newark, and Mansfield Community, we employ 5,000 people. Through the Mid Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership, we also have solid working ties with partners in the health and social care sectors.
The Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP), which is currently transitioning to an Integrated Care System, counts us as a devoted member (ICS). In this structure, local councils, other partners, and NHS organisations all share responsibility for managing our resources, upholding NHS standards, and enhancing the health of the communities they serve.
Whether we are doing well or poorly, we want to know. If you have any suggestions for improving our services, kindly get in touch with our Patient Experience Team, or post them on Care Opinion.
