Two women named Judy and Beverley founded Kingfisher Kindergarten back in 1992, first in a scout hut in Woodley.
At Kingfisher, we employ a free-flowing system known as "planning in the moment," whereby we provide a supportive environment and allow the kids to pursue their own interests in learning.
The children will continue participate in celebration activities, story and group times, music, and P.E. sessions as part of our daily and weekly schedules since we still think that they will help the kids become ready for school.
In addition to this, we will also have a "sound of the week" (using the Jolly Phonics programme) where the kids will learn a sound through a silly song and become aware of its corresponding letter.
We have three focus children each week, and the staff's observations and interactions are then documented in the kids' learning journeys.
We are quite happy with the results our setting has produced.
