Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the term used by the government and early childhood specialists to define the period of time between birth and age five for your child. This is a crucial phase since it gets your child ready for school and gets them set up for future learning and achievement. From the time of birth to the age of five, your child's early years should be joyful, engaging, interesting, safe, and supportive of their needs for growth, care, and education. The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework is a set of rules that must be followed by nurseries, pre-schools, reception classes, and childminders who are registered to teach the EYFS.
Why do we have an EYFS Framework and what does it mean.
The EYFS Framework, which was created in collaboration with a number of early years specialists and parents, exists to enable all professionals working in the EYFS in helping your child. The framework was updated in 2012 with a stronger emphasis on the issues that matter most, making it clearer and simpler to use. Additionally, this new framework places more attention on how you can support your child's development. After the statutory advice underwent adjustments in September 2014, the framework underwent another revision.
