The basic British principles of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for people of all religions and beliefs must be promoted in all schools, according to the DfE, which has lately reaffirmed the need for doing so.
These principles are routinely emphasised in everything we do at Hythe Bay Church of England Primary School and are embodied in our distinctly Christian values of Love, Tolerance, Compassion, and Forgiveness.
Democracy - Democracy serves as the foundation for the school's principles.
Every child is treated equitably and has the same access to speaking up and having their opinions heard.
Individual Liberty - Students are actively encouraged to make decisions while attending school because they are in a secure and encouraging environment.
Our mission as a school is to educate and set limits for young students so they can make decisions safely. To do this, we provide a secure environment and empowering instruction.
Through our e-Safety Policy and PSHE lectures, for example, we encourage students to know, understand, and exercise their rights and personal freedoms. We also provide guidance on how to do so safely.
Mutual Respect - Because they recognise that all children have the right to study and flourish in an environment of mutual respect, our children truly enjoy their studies, are engaged students, and behave admirably.
Respect for others is encouraged at the school, and our classroom guidelines and behaviour policy reinforce this.
During Circle Time and Philosophy for Children, kids participate in discussions where they're expected to accept other people's ideas even if they don't agree with them.
By offering students the chance to experience cultural variety via the firsthand accounts of their peers, we actively look for opportunities to improve their understanding of their place in a diverse society.
