Great Beginnings provides a welcoming and caring learning atmosphere where your child can flourish and gain self-assurance. Through the variety of activities they will be exposed to, each kid is encouraged to reach their greatest potential. Each child has a unique strategy that takes into account their developmental stage and special interests. Additionally, a group plan is created to use a range of games to aid each child in adjusting to being a part of a bigger group. The Great Beginnings programme offers three courses.
In one class, there are sixteen two-year-olds and four adults (a ratio of 1:4). The other two classrooms have a mixed age range of three to six years, and each class has a minimum of three competent teachers and a maximum of twenty-four students (a ratio of 1:8).
Wendy Innes was born and raised in a rural area of North Yorkshire before relocating to London as a young adult. She obtained early experience working with this age group in Montessori schools in London, Mexico City, and California after finishing her Montessori training. 1982 saw her return to London, where she established Great Beginnings.
She has remained in regular contact with the Maria Montessori Institute in Hampstead over the years, and in December 2008, she received an invitation to join the board of directors. She has always had a keen interest in how children of this age develop, and she has witnessed firsthand how important the Montessori approach is in helping kids realise their full potential.
There are now 2 part-time administrators and 11 instructional staff members. In the entrance hall, parents can find the names and pictures of each employee to help them identify their child's teacher.
