At Westminster City School, we support the development of our students into compassionate, dependable, and tolerant individuals who can contribute to both British society and the global community.
The basic British principles of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, respect for one another, and tolerance of people of various religions and beliefs must be taught in all British schools.
We organise our own mock elections during national elections to enable our young people understand more about the British voting system outside of the classroom.
A great occasion when accomplishments are also celebrated is our annual Celebration of Achievement Evening at Westminster Abbey.
Additionally, Year 7 students who are enrolled in our PSHCE programme learn about the origins of law, the advantages and disadvantages of democracy, and our community's rights and obligations.
Through involvement in our various extracurricular organisations and activities, students may build self-knowledge, self-confidence, and a growth mindset in all facets of school life thanks to our safe and encouraging atmosphere.
Our unambiguous anti-bullying rules stress the need of fostering an atmosphere in which every person feels secure and appreciated, and our staff code of conduct makes sure that staff members treat one another with the utmost respect and set an excellent example.
Along with this, a unit on healthy friendships, which includes anti-bullying workshops, is part of our PSHCE curriculum in Year 7, which enriches our School's approach.
We support our young people in developing a knowledge of and respect for their own and other cultures since our students and faculty have connections to more than 100 different countries.
Organizations like Prevent and Caabu (Council for British and Arab Understanding), who provide workshops as part of our PSHCE curriculum at our school, help to further improve this.
