Friendly Families Community

A group of local parents founded Friendly Families Nursery in 2019 with the aid of two nonprofit organisations (the New Economics Foundation and Coram Family and Childcare), funding from Trust for London and the Greater London Authority, a partnership with Peabody, and the collaboration of co-designers and makers Collaborative Design and Build.
To ensure that families' childcare requirements are satisfied and to help keep childcare costs down, parent-led childcare places local parents in charge of planning and delivering a local childcare programme. Parents play a crucial part in designing a childcare facility that works for their neighbourhood, from deciding how it will appear to serving on the management board and hiring early years specialists.
