Flore Preschool

The Brodie Lodge, which is located in Flore's playing field, is the location of the more than 40-year-old Flore Preschool. Children as young as two years old are cared for and educated at the preschool, which is run by a committed staff and a Management Committee comprising parents and caregivers. Our goal is to improve the children's education and growth in a stimulating, safe atmosphere. The nursery and Flore Church of England Primary School share a close relationship. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Department of Education's learning framework, Flore Preschool integrates play and learning (EYFS). From birth until the end of their first (Reception) school year, children go through a developmental stage known as the EYFS. The framework was clarified and made more child-centered for September 2012, with a stronger emphasis on collaborating with parents to promote children's learning at home. Staff members who expertly support children's learning and development through quality instruction guide learning within the environment. Personal learning journeys allow staff to plan for each child individually to support, reinforce, and deepen their present learning and development by observing and documenting each child's learning and growth.
