Communication: Staff engage with all the children's parents prior to them attending, to find out as much as they can about their children's current stage of development and individual interests.

Community Building: Parents comment that staff are friendly and caring, and that, already, their children love coming to the nursery and they talk about the staff at home.

Welcoming and Professional Staff: The nursery is very welcoming to visitors, parents and children. Staff help children settle on arrival. Familiar staff cuddle and comfort new children to the nursery and gradually engage them in activities.

Safeguarding Training: Staff fully understand their responsibilities in protecting children from harm and neglect. Senior designated staff who oversee safeguarding follow their Local Safeguarding Children Board procedures immediately when the need arises.

Play and Learning Integration: The quality of teaching throughout the nursery is good and children happily engage in a good variety of activities.

Transition to Primary School: Children develop good skills in readiness for their future learning as they move on to school.

Child Safety Management: Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The manager monitors staff knowledge and understanding of protecting children from harm and neglect, to ensure they keep abreast of changes in safeguarding practice.
