Firestation Pre-School

Involving parents in all facets of their children's learning and development has allowed Firestation Pre School to build excellent parent partnerships. We believe it's critical that children be valued for who they are as people, regardless of their gender, colour, culture, or ability.
Children can access both the indoors and outside since we allow "freeplay." Playing outside allows for freedom on both a physical and mental level. The outdoors "helps appreciation, encourages a healthy lifestyle, supports important communication skills, aids independence and individualism, allows children to understand taking risks, develops children's problem solving, nurtures children's creativity and provides rich opportunities for their developing imagination."
We have a great deal of expertise dealing with kids that have special needs, such as delayed speech, English as a second language, autism, Down syndrome, and other conditions. To support children's learning and development, we use "closing the gaps" individual learning provision plans, communication boards, and educational health care plans.
Firestation Pre-School supports its preschoolers and helps them get ready for school by maintaining close ties with the neighbourhood primary schools.
