Teachers Emma Henwood and her husband Mark are the sole owners of Emmas Day Nursery Ltd, which runs the nursery and pre-school.
Emma began her career in education in 1995 as a primary school teacher with a focus on early childhood education. She later earned her qualification as an early years professional and worked as an OFSTED inspector of early childhood education.
guided by a qualified teacher Soon after the birth of our first child in 2001, Emma Henwood founded Emmas after working as a teacher in a number of neighbourhood elementary schools.
In order to give your child a solid foundation in advance of the day they start attending a larger school, Emma brings knowledge and experience in areas such as how children learn, child motivation, confidence building, discipline systems, development through the Early Years Foundation Stage, and primary curriculum.
Our nursery is a home away from home where the kids can meet other kids and develop their independence and self-assurance.
Your kid will play and learn at Emmas Day Nursery Pre-School in the comfortable surroundings of the tiny hall, which is set up every day to guarantee a warm, welcoming, and creative setting, in which your child can develop.
Size Our small ensures that we are always thinking of your child first.
Currently, the Pre School can accommodate 21 children, while the Day Nursery can accommodate 24 children.
Catholic Ethos We accept kids from all walks of life, regardless of religious affiliation, and we are respectful of many cultures and worldviews.
However, as practising Catholics, our Christian ethos serves as our main point of reference.
preserving the food we eat We are persuaded that offering a nutritious meal is necessary for the health and development of our children because diet is so crucial.
All costs are included in our prices, and the weekly menus are accessible for perusal.
While the Pre School offers breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and tea, the Day Nursery only offers breakfast.
Outdoor recreation, exercise, and play We are fortunate that there are gardens for the kids to play in in both locations.
We have a fantastic pirate ship with a sand play area at the nursery to encourage role playing and creativity.
The gardens where the kids learn about growing fruit and vegetables, harvesting them, and of course enjoying them, are under the supervision of our charming team of practitioners.
The gardens also include natural wooded areas in our bushes and trees which provide an excellent opportunity for the children to explore learning and their own physical boundaries through play.
To encourage creativity and exploration in a natural setting, we have recreated the Nursery garden's essence at the Pre School.
Although the actual owners, management, and operations of Emmas Day Nursery remained completely identical, the company transitioned from a solo trading entity to a Limited Company in 2016.
This meant that we could not officially retain our Ofsted reports.
The specifics are available on our OFSTED opinions page, however most recently, Ofsted gave Emmas Day Nursery an Outstanding grade.
