Elmwood Montessori School

Dr. Maria Montessori (1870–1952), an Italian physician and educationalist who spent many years working with children, developed the Montessori method.
Maria Montessori's theories remain as true and pertinent today as they did during her lifetime, and they have proven effective in achieving her goal of giving children the education for life.
Our nursery is also governed by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum developed by the Department for Education, in addition to the Montessori method and curriculum.
The recommendations specify early learning objectives for each topic.
At Meadows, we organise and offer a variety of play activities that support children in moving forward in each of the learning and development areas by using the stepping stones leading to the early learning goals.
