Hello, my name is Emma, and I'm the Deputy Play Manager at EKC. During Natalie's maternity leave, I'm stepping up to take over as Play Manager and will do so until she returns.
I'm Natalie, and I oversee all of the plays at EKC.
I moved to Sheffield and left an after-school programme where I had spent the previous 12 years working.
I have accumulated a wealth of experience over the past 12 years, working my way up from an untrained play worker to management, which has allowed me to become the play manager here at EKC.
I collaborate with Denise Brown, the business manager, and Emma, the deputy play manager.
I'm in charge of handling the majority of the club's non-childcare deliveries (I do help out in emergencies with childcare such as snow days and am fully qualified in Safeguarding myself).
Janet Brown, our part-time club administrator, assists me with the financial and transactional aspects.
On the business side, I keep an eye on spending and prices, make purchases for supplies, and agree to tenancy agreements to allow us to preserve our non-profit status and offer our parents the most affordable childcare at the highest possible standard.
In order to make sure we will satisfy our Ofsted and regulatory obligations, such as public health, data processing, and insurance conditions, I also serve in an external compliance function.
Recently, in addition to authoring all advice, staffing bubbles, and assisting our testing lead Emma Thackery in internal track and trace activity, I have been collecting grants and furlough for the club to enable us to continue operating in the face of a pandemic.
Along with the setting manager, I attend Committee meetings to present information on our financial situation and the Committee's strategic objective (in support of our parent treasurer).
