Eastwood Neighbourhood Nursery

In 1984, the manager, Val Brown, founded a coffee morning/mother and toddler group; over time, we grew and in 1993, we became a playgroup. In 1996, the nursery became a nonprofit. In 1999, we changed our name to Eastwood Preschool and started offering care and instruction to children under the age of five five days a week. We were able to successfully get money in 2004 to construct a purpose-built nursery, and we officially established a charitable organisation in 2015. (CIO). We underwent an inspection in April 2019 and received an OUTSTANDING rating across the board. With regard to both food and hygiene throughout the nursery, we have received a rating of 5. We received some new property in 2017 so we could expand our playground. We raised almost $34,000 through funding, fundraising, and contributions to design and equip our new playground. All of our care staff members possess NVQ Level 3, 4, and Foundation Degree qualifications. Additionally, our Staff members frequently attend courses. Additionally, we have volunteers and students that come to our nursery to complete their training while they are there. We also have a housekeeper, two kitchen helpers, and a cook. Our management committee, which consists of the manager, the deputy, the assistant deputy, and the finance officer, is in charge of the nursery's finances and daily operations. As a charity, we also have a Board of Trustees that oversees the organisation and is made up of devoted volunteers with a depth of knowledge.
