Welcome to our Nursery School
East Prescot Nursery School is a Liverpool Local Authority maintained Nursery School providing Early Years Education for up to 104 three and four year olds. Children attending East Prescot Nursery School move on to attend a number of local primary schools with whom we have developed strong links.
The information contained in this website is intended to provide you with a comprehensive view of what our Nursery School has to offer. You will find information about the people who work in and with our school, our values and beliefs, admissions information, teaching and learning provision and the support available for children with Special Educational Needs and/or disability (SEND), working with parents/carers, policies and procedures, Ofsted reports, and news and events.
Our last Ofsted inspection in November 2014 judged our provision to be Outstanding. The Inspection report identified the following:
"Children blossom in this outstanding school. Irrespective of their starting points, children thrive and make exceptional progress in their early learning. The achievement of the most able children and those with special educational needs is outstanding because of high-quality support and challenge." OFSTED 2014
Our aims for the children who attend East Prescot Road Nursery School is to ensure they become confident, self-motivated learners who develop the necessary skills and attitudes to achieve the best possible outcomes in their learning and development. We do this by making learning meaningful and fun, supporting children to develop independence and the ability to make choices.
"The behaviour and safety of children are outstanding. They are proud to be 'leaders' and helpers and are taught to respect others and value themselves." OFSTED 2014
Underpinning our early years provision is the nurturing of children's personal, social and emotional development. We believe that children learn best when they are happy and secure and have formed a trusting relationship with the adults who work with them.
"The exceptional curriculum is anchored in providing activities to stimulate and capture children's curiosity for learning. It is rooted in developing early reading, writing and mathematics skills for each child. Consequently, the children are very well prepared for primary school." OFSTED 2014
We actively promote the fundamental values of British life; the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect of those with different faiths or beliefs. For our nursery children this begins with; learning to play with others, take turns and share, learning right from wrong, understanding that they have a voice that is listened to and can make choices that are respected; the promotion of positive views within the nursery and wider community and the challenging of stereotypes through positive role models and discussion.
Our vision is that:
Every child is valued as an individual with a tremendous potential for learning
Every child is listened to and their needs and interests identified
All children feel happy and secure in our positive, nurturing environment
Every child develops confidence in their Learning Journey supporting them to become successful lifelong learners
Our school plays a key role at the heart of the community.
Children and their families are central to our vision and it is our aim that governors staff, parents/carers and other professionals work together relentlessly to deliver high quality provision that directly addresses the needs of each child.
The Senior Leadership Team and staff at the school promote opportunities for learning for children and families through their practice and behaviour which are underpinned by respectful, nurturing relationships; good communication ensuring consistency; High quality practice and provision and a culture of self-improvement based on evaluation, reflection and action.
