In September 2013, Caroline had a stroke but recovered.
Physically, intellectually, and emotionally, her recuperation has been slow and challenging.
Caroline spent weeks at a time in the hospital, was unable to speak for six months, and lost use of her right arm and hand.
Alex, Caroline's husband, and their kids worked very hard to help Caroline get better.
Although Caroline is grateful for the help from her own family and friends, we are aware that not everyone is as fortunate to have a strong support system.
Caroline led a very successful and well-liked forest school group in elementary schools prior to her stroke.
Eight years later, Caroline claims that being part in Diggers, where she is frequently seen in the vegetable garden with the kids, and waking up in the green open space of the South Downs contributed significantly to her recovery.
Although Caroline has received a great deal of help from the NHS, eventually all of us will run out of resources and access to care.
At Diggers, we wanted to assist people get through this time by promoting positivity, fostering new friendships, and giving them the room to heal in a warm and welcoming environment.
Although recovering from a stroke can be emotionally and physically tiring at times, Caroline would say it has opened her new opportunities and made her appreciate life more.
Caroline recently experienced a life-altering epiphany, and she now believes that her purpose in life is to take care of and care for others who are in similar situations so that their overall welfare is warm and positive.
