Cygnets is a registered charity run by a volunteer committee with a team of enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and helpful staff members.
based four miles outside of Bury St. Edmunds in the little rural village of Great Whelnetham.
For kids 2 years, 9 months and younger up until school age, we offer Early Years education and daycare.
Children can reach their potential and grow in Cygnets' stimulating physical and emotional environment.
According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), every child has the right to opportunities and experiences that will help them reach their full potential as lifelong learners and as contributing members of society.
Children can develop resilience, independence, a positive self-image, and a positive attitude toward learning with the help of Cygnets' emotional environment.
With many toys and open-ended resources, there is still plenty of room for the kids to play games of their own design and imagination and act out their own experiences.
We allow children to play outside freely, giving them access to the mud kitchen, water, and sand.
We offer opportunity in the front garden to garden, observe nature—we have our own insect motel and raised pond—play small world in the fairy garden, and engage in artistic and creative endeavours.
The Phoenix Group (over 60s) frequently joins us for craft-making and culinary sessions at Cygnets, and neighbourhood companies and agencies frequently stop by to talk to us about their community involvement.
When they feel safe and have developed an attachment with a special person, children learn and are happy.
We do this in Cygnets using our key person system.
A key person is assigned to each child and their family who develops into that exceptional individual.
They establish a solid, dependable bond with you and your child.
Together, you'll develop a close bond and join the larger Cygnets family.
Your key person will help your child to settle in our setting, support you to confidently leave your child with us, work in partnership with you to achieve best outcomes for your child and be responsible for your childs learning and recording development in their Learning Journey.
Your child's progress will be reported to you verbally and via sharing their learning journey with you.
Parents may see what the Cygnets have been up to each week by looking at photos of our kids on our display boards.
There are numerous options to join us and live in Cygnets.
To ensure that your child has the chance to obtain the best results, realise their potential, and most importantly, be happy, working together with your parents is very essential to us.
