Croston Pre-School

The charity identification number for Croston Pre-School Nursery is 4805524. We regret to tell you that the Pre-school Committee has decided to permanently close the Pre-school on July 14, 2022, at the conclusion of the summer session. Croston Pre-School has provided local families with the highest quality childcare for almost 50 years and the decision to close has not been taken lightly but with such low numbers and inadequate government funding, the charity has been left in a financial position that is no longer viable.
The lottery award that allowed Pre School to relocate to its current home and develop into the Pre-school we know and love today was a major highlight.
Due to the daring behaviour of the kids, this shift has also increased the number of toys and other goods residing at the bottom of the river.
Its not just been about the children though; Pre-School has been an important social life for parents and enabled people to make life long friends through just chatting at the door and also at the many events we have held - such as the infamous quiz, teddy bears picnics, various trails and the moth ball which is still talked about fondly to this day by all who attended!.
Through the good times, weve also had some challenging onessurviving an arson attack which totally destroyed our home in 1991, the sudden death of a much loved Manager in 2000 and the flooding of our current home here at The Old School in December 2015.
We have been able to overcome all of these thanks to the wonderful network that our parents and the hamlet of Croston have provided for us.
The summer term is always busy as we help our older children prepare for school and continue to care for and nurture our younger ones and this year will be no exception.
It will be business as usual and smiles on faces right up to the last daylets make this term one to remember!.
