Collingham Gardens Nursery

At an AGM in November 2021, all of the voting members—all of whom are parents of Collingham Gardens Nursery students—were chosen. All members serve as the company's directors, who are in charge of making sure the nursery complies with all applicable laws, including those set forth by Ofsted, the Charities Commission, and Companies House. Every MC member must undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and any newly elected Chair must meet with an Ofsted Inspector. Except for the months of August and December, the MC typically meets once every month. It addresses concerns brought up by a report from the Manager, hears updates from the MC Subcommittees as needed, approves the annual budget and any other significant ad hoc expenditures, authorises new rules and procedures, and talks about significant staffing-related matters. In conclusion, it addresses any issue that is unrelated to the nursery's day-to-day operations or that could have an impact on it in the medium to long term, including the creation of a strategic three-year plan. In actuality, becoming a member of the MC involves a desire to devote as much of one's personal time as possible to helping and supporting the Manager and the nursery. Parents who want to be involved in the management of the nursery but are unable to commit to full membership in the MC are highly encouraged to join one or more of these Subcommittees.
