Cherrytrees was founded in 1992 and was once located in Shapwick. As of 2012, it has been running out of Cossington Village Hall. The hall has a huge enclosed outdoor space and is located in the middle of a peaceful village in magnificent rural surroundings. The hall features simple access, cutting-edge amenities, and a sizable parking lot. The gardens at Cossington Park House are also accessible to us and are only a short distance from the hall. For more information, please see the individual page. The school's mission is to warmly welcome families to a setting where kids can grow to their full potential in a relaxed, enjoyable environment with chances for self-expression and social engagement with their peers. In order to foster a partnership that will improve children's lives, we think it is important to build a relationship of trust and support with parents and caregivers. As they interact with the Montessori learning materials and get thoughtful and knowledgeable support from staff, children have a wide variety of learning opportunities. Along with a wide variety of play facilities, children also benefit from daily music and dance classes, theatre, art and craft projects, natural studies, fundamental science, and ICT. Children can access all curriculum areas outside in addition to being a terrific place for physical activity. Our mud kitchen has produced crops of potatoes, beans, and tomatoes, as well as a variety of beautiful flowers in pots and containers. The kids take care of the snails, beetles, spiders, and other little animals while routinely replenishing the bird feeders and feeding the birds. We are members of the Somerset Wildlife Trust, support Secret World, and provide provisions to aid badgers, hedgehogs, foxes, and birds survive the winter.
