The Baptist Union of Great Britain, which has its main office in Didcot, Oxfordshire, is a member organisation of Britwell Baptist Church. Churches, local organisations, a national resource centre, and colleges make up the Union. It is a diverse union with big and small churches, different ethnicities, and various worship styles, but it is bound together by core beliefs and a shared goal of transforming lives and communities through the message and love of Jesus Christ. The union collaborates on projects with people locally, nationally, and around the world.
We are a part of the regional organisation known as the Southern Counties Baptist Association, and we answer to the corresponding regional pastors for a variety of ministry-related matters. Locally, we collaborate with the East Berkshire Cluster of Baptist churches for the exchange of materials, concepts, and festive occasions. Both cluster and association meetings have a member from our church in attendance.
Since April 2006, Pastor Gideon Reuben has served as the pastor of Britwell Baptist Church, a member of the Evangelical Alliance. He is assisted in his duties by the leadership team and the coordinators of several ministries. More than 40 communicant members of the church decide the affairs of the church in a prayerful manner. Every Sunday, we have between 30 and 80 individuals. The attendees comprise a cross-section of personalities, countries, and age ranges.
At Church, we value diversity and work to foster understanding between many ethnic groups. In matters of faith, we are in agreement with one another, and we submit to the authority of the leaders. In addition, we make a vow as members to uphold the church's unity, share in its responsibilities, and assist in its ministry. We aspire to accomplish this by living out our faith every day and inviting friends and family to our church because we feel that God has brought us together to be a testimony in our neighbourhood.
