Briary Pre-School

All students at Briary Primary School, including those with special needs and disabilities, will have their needs met (SEND).
All children, regardless of their unique requirements, are expected to receive inclusive instruction that will help them achieve the best academic results and feel like valued members of the larger school community.
We have a SEN Intervention Protocol that outlines the ways in which parents can get additional information and updates regarding the needs and services provided for their children in school.
Through our Family Liaison Officer (FLO) at the school or the Children's Center, located at Briary, we can provide support in a variety of ways.
Contact the school office (tel: 01227 373095 or by email) in the first instance and seek to talk with Mrs. Gallimore if you require assistance with Special Educational Needs (SENCo).
Children are encouraged to talk to their teacher or any other adult at school about any fears or concerns they may have.
We will want to notify you as soon as possible if your child becomes ill or gets wounded at school.
We must have your home and business phone numbers as well as the numbers of a friend or family member who can call you if you are unavailable.
Although it is our policy to inform you of any bumps in the road, if a child doesn't tell us, we might not be aware of them.
A child is not allowed to bring any type of medication to school.
Unless there are special circumstances and prior arrangements have been made with the school office, no child will get medication.
Of course, you are welcome to attend class personally to administer necessary medication.
Please get in touch if your kid suffers from an ongoing condition that necessitates medicine, such as asthma, or a chronic sickness.
Please don't send your sick child to school until they are healthy enough to go.
Before sending a child to school, head lice or nits should be treated.
We kindly ask that you inform us in confidence if your child has head lice so that we can send a letter home to all parents requesting them to perform a specific check.
Children's hair cannot be checked at school.
For all of Herne Bay's schools, including Briary, there is a staff of school nurses in charge.
Your child will be offered a school entry screening of height, weight, vision and hearing.
Head lice, bedwetting, and asthma are just a few of the problems and concerns that school nurses can provide guidance on.
So please contact them if you have any concerns or inquiries about your child's health.
