Overall, our exam outcomes are improving. In two years, math results have increased by more than half a grade, while English results have increased by one third. Our benchmarking and performance monitoring of students show more encouraging signals of rising attainment at KS5. We have higher expectations and above expectations for progress than any other Derby school. This is supported by efficient teaching and learning, good behaviour control, and a suitable, pertinent curriculum structure. We have high expectations for both staff and students. Prior to that, in 2012, when we were inspected, it was determined that we needed improvement and that inspection in 2015 made the correct determination. In May 2013, a second topic inspection of English and literacy was conducted, and the results were positive overall for English and exceptional for English provision.
