It had always been a dream of Mrs Alison Lane and Mr William Lane to open up a childrens day nursery.
In 1995, the first Bambinos opened in Woolwell, making this dream a reality.
To date, Bambinos now has four successful nurseries in the City Centre, Plymstock, Woolwell and Tavistock.
Alison and Bill Lane's daughter Jemma Honey joined the Bambinos adventure in 2006 after completing her teaching training and employment.
As Chief Executive Officer of Bambinos Ltd., Jemma continues to lead the company forward, mentor all staff members, and provide assistance so that every child can reach their full potential.
Sara has been an inspirational driving force in the direction of Bambinos over the years to ensure the very best standards and care are offered to the children.
Sara successfully leads, guides and supports all nurseries in creating unique, outstanding environments and learning opportunities for all children. .
A capable and seasoned management group, led by Head of HR and Operations Nicola James and Senior Manager Hannah Toule, supports Jemma and Sara.
Hannah leads in outstanding practice as an Early Years Teacher across all Bambino's nurseries.
Since joining the Bambinos family 12 years ago, Nicola has served as a strong leader and support for all of the Bambinos nurseries.
Together with our passion and motivation to improve childrens outcomes, ensures Bambinos remains reflective, progressive and outstanding for all.
Over the years we have developed our ethos around our own child-led approach and this is reflected in every aspect of our nursery environment.
Years of experience and practice has shaped our pedagogy, taking inspiration from pioneers such as Reggio, Montessori, Steiner and Te Wharki. The Bambinos approach is not just about inspiring our children.
As a Reggio inspired provision, we regard the environment as the third teacher.
The children are at the heart of our decision making about the ever-evolving environment and enjoy a daily variety of activities to nurture their social, intellectual, emotional and physical development indoors and out!.
Despite dedicating their lives to Bambinos since 1995 and enjoying all the adventures that went with it, in April 2018 it was time for Alison and Bill to retire.
Alison and Bill were fortunate enough to hand pick who was going to own Bambinos Ltd and Jiayi Education Investment Group was chosen to become the main shareholders of Bambinos Ltd. All management and all staff members were delighted to remain as Bambinos Ltd under the same management structure with the same policies, procedures, ethos and standards for our children.
Jiayi is committed to Bambinos continuing its journey of excellence under the same leadership of Jemma Honey, Sara Richards, all management and members of staff.
As Jiayi is based in China, there are now additional opportunities for staff to travel to China to learn about nursery care and further their professional development.
The first visit took place in September 2018 with four members of staff on the trip and we look forward to many more!.
This is the Bambinos story so far, but we look forward to adding to this year on year and sharing our story with you.
