Pre-Degree study at Arts University Plymouth
Our specialist Pre-Degree courses give 16–18-year-olds the opportunity to develop their creative skills, explore their interests and prepare for the next stage of their education or career. Based at our dedicated Pre-Degree & Sixth Form campus in Plymouth, students learn alongside other young people with a shared interest in creativity.
There are five courses to choose from:
- Filmmaking & Media Production – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice
- Photography – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice
- Art & Design – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice
- Fashion & Textiles – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice
- Graphics, Illustration & Game Arts – UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice
Courses are practical and hands-on, giving students the chance to experiment with different materials, processes, techniques and technologies. Through projects and creative briefs, students can explore their ideas, build a portfolio and develop their own creative style.
The Pre-Degree & Sixth Form campus provides a supportive environment where students can build confidence, meet new people and become more independent in their learning. Students are encouraged to try new things, respond to feedback and develop the skills needed to take their next steps.
For many students, this means progressing to higher education, including degree-level study at Arts University Plymouth. The courses can also help students prepare for further training or a career in the creative industries.
