The Portchester Community Association (PCA) has a long and intriguing history that has fostered a great deal of goodwill in the community. It is one of Hampshire's oldest Associations and was founded in 1962. The PCA, one of over 100 associations in Hampshire and one of thirteen in the Fareham Borough, has goals in common with numerous organisations, including Hampshire County Council and other public entities that provide resources of interest. For many years, PCA has held events, taster days, and other activities aimed at fostering a sense of community and serving local interests. PCA has always worked to satisfy local needs. Additionally, PCA collaborates with other organisations to promote coordinated efforts. Prior to Portchester Community School receiving the lease for the new building, PCA oversaw the Portchester Community Center for 50 years. Our current location is the Community Hub @ 38 West Street Portchester, 2 New Parade. The Association is overseen by a board of trustees and is a recognised charitable organisation. Association members, who represent Sections (groups) as different as Andy Pandy Preschool and Paradise in Portchester, elect and nominate the association's trustees (our over fifties club). PCA is an autonomous nonprofit membership organisation that offers community members events, amenities, and services. Since its founding in 1962, PCA has managed numerous member-led organisations (referred to as Sections), planned events, and collaborated with neighbourhood organisations to solve community problems. PCA relocated to its current central site in 2013, and since then, it has created new programmes to cater to regional interests. Arts, sports, IT, preschool, child and family services, adult and community learning, and care for the elderly are among the available activities. The Portchester Gala and the Portchester Precinct Christmas tree and lights are both organised by PCA.
