The Department of Education has released recommendations for fostering core British values in classrooms.
At Churcham Primary School, we view it as our responsibility to make sure that our students are ready to lead productive lives as British citizens.
Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE) and Religious Education (RE) specifically teach these values (RE).
Through the development and delivery of a comprehensive and well-balanced curriculum, we also teach British values.
The values of both institutions are ingrained with the school regulations.
We have developed a behaviour system that is constantly applied throughout the school in order to encourage and promote good behaviour, attitude, and productivity.
Children receive rewards not only for academic success but also for their actions and displays of moral character.
At our school, students are actively encouraged to make decisions because they know they are doing it in a secure and encouraging environment.
Children are urged to voice their opinions and participate in school life.
Students are encouraged to be aware of, comprehend, and exercise their rights and liberties, and they are given guidance on how to do so securely, for instance through our E-Safety instruction and PHSE instruction.
The freedom for all students to study and develop safely is at the core of Churcham Primary School's comprehensive behaviour policy, which is in place and has a strong anti-bullying culture.
All of our actions at Churcham are guided by respect.
We demand that all students, teachers, support staff, and guests at our school be treated with respect and dignity.
These values guide all of our school's teaching and learning as well as all of our interpersonal interactions. All members of the school community treat one another with civility and respect.
We are dedicated to helping our students at Churcham Primary School understand the cultures, faiths, and beliefs of their classmates, neighbours, and the communities outside of our schools.
In our religious education sessions and assemblies, we encourage all kids to visit a variety of houses of worship and learn about various religious beliefs.
Beliefs, traditions and customs are studied and celebrated, reinforcing a deep understanding of British tolerance and acceptance of all cultures.
At Churcham Primary School, we aggressively disapprove of any viewpoints, even "extreme" ones, that are expressed by students, staff, or parents.
