A direct payment from Kent County Council (KCC) gives you the freedom to choose who will meet your or your child's childcare needs, as opposed to having the Local Authority make arrangements for you.
As determined by your child's care and support plan or the provisions outlined in your child's education and health care plan, you can purchase the support you need using your direct payment (EHCP).
You must have a core assessment completed and a professional-approved assessment of your need in order to be eligible for a Social Care Direct Payment.
Speak to your social worker about investigating the possibility of a direct payment if you undergo an assessment and are determined to be eligible for help.
Your social worker will recommend you to Beams Direct Payment Service once you sign a DP Agreement if they determine that a direct payment might be able to meet your child's requirements.
You will be given a specific DP Case Worker who will explain the Direct Payment procedure to you and give you the necessary assistance and knowledge to set up the support of your choosing.
You can ask for the plan's agreed-upon personal budget to be made accessible as a Direct Payment.
Before being directed to the Beams Direct Payment Service for our assistance in setting up your Direct Payment, you must sign a KCC Direct Payment Agreement.
In order for you to access the resources for the stated needs, KCC will often deposit the necessary funds into a managed account service.
