Early childhood establishments are encouraged to aggressively promote British values, which are inherent in the EYFS, as part of the government's Prevent programme.
As part of their effort to combat radicalization and terrorism, the government has more recently emphasised the need to establish and enforce a clear and strict expectation to promote essential British values inside education. Early years settings are required by the Counter Terrorism and Security Act (2015) to give adequate consideration to the need to stop people from becoming attracted to terrorism. The 2015 summer will see the implementation of this obligation. Therefore, settings must be directed by upcoming recommendations on the most effective manner to show conformance.
