From the The Willow Nursery
The Willow On The Farm Nursery in Oxfordshire and The Willow Nursery in London are sibling institutions.
The foundations for this trip are laid during this brief period at nursery, which is essential preparation for their transition to school and their life following.
To lay a solid basis for your child's transition to school and the rest of their lives, we will utilise the two years they spend with us.
Our head teacher is Caroline.
She started working at The Willow in January 2019 and enjoys being a member of the staff.
After earning her PGCE in 2008, Tess started working as a receptionist at Eridge House (now Parsons Green Prep) in 2009. In 2010, she moved to Sydney and started teaching at an independent boys school in the Eastern Suburbs.
We place a lot of emphasis on outdoor education and Forest School activities since it is becoming more and more clear that these activities improve kids' academic performance and confidence.
All of our activities during the day will be related to the EYFS 7 areas of learning, which you can find here.
Your kid will get the self-assurance to control their emotions and behaviour, make friends, share, and take turns if they develop a wide variety of social skills.
By providing chances for physical activity, freedom of mobility, and mental well-being, learning outside the classroom supports the development of healthy and active lives.
Cultural capital is a key component of the Early Years Foundation Stage and is the fundamental information that kids need to become informed citizens.
At The Willow, we think that cultural capital is about providing kids the greatest possible start to their early education and future success, by strengthening the chances and experiences we provide to kids, especially the most disadvantaged.
Through the seven domains of learning, we support children in experiencing their wonder, astonishment, and curiosity about the world in which they live, equipping them with the information and skills they need for what comes next.
Examples of how The Willow immerses itself in cultural capital include the RULER emotional intelligence programme and Forest School. Understanding the cuisine, music, and clothing of many towns and cultures from throughout the world; outings; festivals; and visitors.
We really believe and hope that the lessons and experiences the kids have at The Willow will stick with them for the rest of their lives.
