The Village Montessori, which took its name from its initial location in the centre of Blackheath village, relocated to the Kingswood Halls in the middle of the 1980s.
When the former owner resigned in January 2000, Melanie Simpson, the current owner, and another employee took over the nursery.
At the nursery, the outdoors is especially cherished.
The Village Montessori received its fourth straight Outstanding rating from Ofsted in 2016.
To provide the greatest possible educational experience for young children, Montessori nurseries like The Village Montessori use ground-breaking software called "My Montessori Child."
In order to ensure that your child's learning is fully supported in accordance with both Montessori principles and internationally recognised frameworks of child development, My Montessori Child was developed in collaboration with more than 200 Montessori schools around the world. It consists of two parts: a secure website that parents can access to share in the many ways their child is developing and flourishing at nursery, and a teacher system for observations.
