The Shepherd's Hut Outdoor Day Nursery

We provide specialised, top-notch childcare for kids ages 0 to 5. We provide kids a beautiful beginning to their first independent steps in the world by using nature to nurture.
After founding Chiltern Forest School, we have seen how school-aged kids benefit from learning and playing outside. We opened our distinctive Outdoor Day Nursery after realising firsthand the beneficial effects Forest School had on the kids and in response to demand to make this opportunity available to pre-schoolers. Through the beauty of our lovely outdoor location, we mix child care and education to enable kids to thrive and develop as people. We support kids' social and personal growth while giving them a solid basis on which to learn.
The Shepherds Hut Outdoor Day Nursery is a complex of buildings located in the foothills below Coombe Hill, close to Wendover, on a private and attractive parcel of farmland. We offer a heated yurt for indoor activities, quiet time, and bad weather that was built with kids in mind. Along with this, we have a specific place for forest school, a mud kitchen, and a fruit and vegetable patch where we will nurture, produce, and consume our harvest.
