My name is Anne-Marie (Luana), and I teach in the foundation stage and primary grades in addition to leading forest schools.
I am a local resident and a parent. I have been a preschool teacher for 14 years, and my 8-year-old daughter attends a nearby school.
Since the 1980s, Forest School lessons, which were created in Denmark, have been an essential component of the Early Years Curriculum. The Bridgwater College, located in Somerset, was the nation's first forest school. The goal of Forest School is to give young children an education that fosters an awareness of the vast natural world while also helping them develop independence, confidence, and high self-esteem. While the kids discover and work with outdoor, natural materials, activities are carried out that are related to the National and Foundation Stage Curriculum. The kids understand the social and physical limitations they must work within by using actual tools. They are given freedom and responsibilities and participate in achievable tasks which reflect their interests and learning styles.
