The Lighthouse Nursery School

The Lighthouse was established in September 1990 by Sally Fitchett. The school was housed in two village halls until 1998. In Newington, South Oxfordshire, we relocated to a specially constructed school in open countryside in September 1998. There are three gorgeously furnished classrooms, each with a private outdoor space. For larks and owls, music, dance, seagulls (during the holidays, among other things), we have a separate classroom. Our creation of The Field includes areas for planting and excavating as well as a mound, a log pile, and other features. A Christian Montessori school, The Lighthouse provides high-quality daycare and instruction. We are available all year long. The Lighthouse offers a warm, nurturing environment where kids can develop to their full potential during those crucial early years. The Lighthouse fosters in the kids a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, positivity, and respect for one another.
