The Grove Day Nursery

Activities: Children have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of interesting activities.

Skills , Knowledge and Behavior: Children’s physical development is provided for in various ways from using the static equipment, playing with smaller objects such as balls and hoops to taking part in Sticky Kids and Top Start sessions.

Communication: Staff work closely with parents ensuring that children’s individual needs are being met, with the result that children feel valued and accepted. Staff exchange information daily with parents, mostly through conversation.

Community Building: Parents evenings are held so that parents can discuss their child’s progress. They also receive written reports.

Staff Training: Staff understand their responsibility to safeguard children and attend regular training.

Welcoming and Professional Staff: Children make close relationships with at least one adult who understands them. This adult moves up with the children from one group to another so that they have continuity of care.

Safeguarding Training: Staff understand their responsibility to safeguard children and attend regular training.

Play and Learning Integration: They have use of the school playgrounds, the school hall and their own small garden.

Transition to Primary School: Children benefit from their care and welfare being provided by a small number of staff, they have continuity of care in their small groups with other children who they become familiar with and form friendships.

Child Safety Management: Risk of accidental injury is minimised as staff carry out daily safety checks in each area.

Children's Safety and Security: Children are cared for in a secure safe environment.

Happiness and Settling: The majority of the children are very happy and well settled in the nursery.

Nutritional Menu: Children benefit from a healthy well balanced diet. The school cooks prepare all of the meals and snacks.
