Children arrive- parents/carers bring children into pre-school.
This is also an opportunity for parents to speak informally to staff.
Exercise time, a selection of movement songs and dancing activities to encourage children to be active.
Tidy up time Children help to tidy the toys into the correct boxes.
Story time- stories will be chosen and voted for by the children each day.
Children will have circle time where we look at the weather board and sing nursery rhymes.
We will talk about any work that the children have done during the day and look at any show and tell items from home.
Afternoon sessions will run to a similar routine however activities will be varied to ensure that children who are with us all day have different experiences.
During the session children will be able to choose from resources and activities to play with.
Our room is defined into areas, although these areas are linked, and children can move toys to different areas if they want to.
There is a role play area which has a kitchen, play food, fancy dress, dolls and additional props depending on current themes and planning.
As an extension to the role play area we have a selection of small world toys including train tracks, little people, Barbie dolls and superhero figures.
We have tables around the room, two of these tables have activities that encourage mark making and literacy.
In addition to this we are working to create a mud kitchen.
The resources in all areas will be changed to fit in with planning and to maintain childrens interest.
During the session children will be taken to a quiet area in their keyworker groups to do more focused activities that are planned to meet the individual needs of children according to their age and stage of development.
We encourage children to bring in a named water bottle, so they can easily help themselves to a drink throughout the day.
We will provide snacks for all children this will be fresh fruit with crackers or breadsticks, and a drink of either water or milk.
