From the Steady-Steps Pre-School
A non-profit organisation, Our Setting. We have charitable status and are set up as a Company LTD by Guarantee. Originally housed within Gosport Leisure Centre, we learned in 2006 that the centre would have to close in order to undergo renovations. Julie Pickthall, the practise manager, started looking for new space for us. The "Steady Steps" project had started.
With the help of the Rowner schools community, Julie helped us secure a purpose-built modular structure, and in 2008 we welcomed our first cohort under the name Steady Steps. Since then, we have expanded significantly and thrived, and we recently marked our 10-year anniversary.
In addition to receiving an Outstanding Ofsted award in 2015, Steady Steps was named the Outstanding Early Years Team of the Year in June 2018 for the work we perform to improve young children's emotional wellbeing.
