Children's author Hana Tooke, who wrote The Midnighters, one of the new books we have in school, spoke with KS2 today through video conference. The kids heard a portion of the tale and received helpful advice on how to craft their own mystery tale. After that, we had a Q&A. We really appreciate everyone who attended the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 parents', caregivers', and grandparents' coffee morning for reading. It was wonderful to have so many of you back at school, and the kids had a great time reading and sharing tales with you. The fifth graders have been designing their own ceramic masterpieces in class, and after they had dried completely, they painstakingly painted them. The youngsters honed their moulding abilities and employed tools to imprint designs and forms in the clay. Although it is undoubtedly a challenging technique, the kids have created some gorgeous bowls, coasters, and mugs.
