As a business, it is imperative that we support and promote organisations that support deserving causes.
We believe giving back and supporting others is something everyone should take part in, and so, as part of our pledge to support this, we donate a percentage of our revenues every month to great causes.
We have recently supported The Toy House in Urmston, Bone Cancer Research Trust, and Francis House Didsbury to name a few.
This summer, each week, a member of our team chose a charity to donate a percentage of our revenues to.
We were recently put forward and chosen for the FedEx x Europa League Community Award.
The prize was delivered by none other than former England striker and football legend Michael Owen.
Michael was kind enough to visit our setting at Urmston Primary School and catch up with our co-founder Ryan about the work we do at the school and in the community.
Due to the circumstances, Christmas shows and Nativitys were, of course, cancelled or held a little differently this year and that is why at School of Play, we wanted to provide a show that encapsulates all the same festive feelings and creates memorable moments for the children and parents alike.
From Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer to Last Christmas, the children did not fall short on their singing abilities.
As well as this many of the group became a small production team and we felt it was important to assign them roles such as lighting designer, set designer, director and much more.
The children thrived in their assigned roles and the whole show came together perfectly.
We managed to raise nearly 100 from selling hot drinks and snacks to the parents in attendance, and we used that money to go towards gifts that we delivered to childrens hospice Francis House in Didsbury on Christmas Eve.
During the October half-term, and following the governments decision not to offer free school meals to children, a local restaurant in Urmston ran a fantastic initiative providing school meals to any local children in need.
To support the cause, we donated PE packs to be handed out to the children that came into the restaurant.
