Our very own young people came up with the idea for The History of Grime Project. The Pump's budding musicians were eager to learn more about the genre that heavily inspires their own sounds and examine the roots and inspirations that influenced the creation of Grime as well as the effects Grime has had on young people's culture, fashion, and enterprise.
The largest Grime scene outside of London is in Birmingham and the West Midlands, which also serves as a breeding ground for new Grime artists. The Pump takes pleasure in being a company that supports talent.
The Pump, in collaboration with our delivery partners the Birmingham Music Archive and Access Creative, has been successful in winning Heritage Lottery funding to undertake this new music initiative.
The project is intended for a specific demographic of young people who are studying the origins of grime. In order to create a digital archive system, arrange an exhibition, and plan a conference event in June 2019, the group will examine the beginnings and influences of grime as a genre and culture. They will also profile and interview artists, producers, DJs, and club promoters.
The Pump is happy to let you know that we will be hosting a celebration to honour the Birmingham 2022 Festival and The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The local community will come together, celebrate, and have a wonderful day at this entertaining family event. We'll see you there, so be sure to tell all of your friends! .
With the help of the Bronze Arts Award, students can get a foundational grasp of artistic activity and some understanding of local arts resources. The learner commits to participating in artistic endeavours and exhibits a fundamental knowledge of and aptitude for information transfer.
