From the Rainbow House Whitechapel
Initiated by local women in 2001, Rainbow House is an independent supplier of a variety of services for kids under 8 and their families. Originally founded as a Moms and Toddlers organisation, it has subsequently obtained registration to provide preschool sessions, crche sessions, mothers and toddlers sessions, and after-school and weekend activities for kids. To accommodate the requirements of the kids on our waiting list, Rainbow House expanded steadily.
Over 100 children and parents utilise its programmes weekly, with all of its sessions currently operating at maximum capacity. It is collaborating with Early Years and Ofsted to investigate the viability of growing to accommodate parents' requirements and shorten its waiting list. The excellence of the services rendered by its employees and the dynamic atmosphere in which children learn and develop are highlighted in its Ofsted reports.
Kids enjoy spending time at the nursery. They arrive joyful and self-assured, rapidly get used to the routine, and decide how to play on their own. Younger kids settle in easily and quickly develop accustomed to their surroundings and daily routine. Children are engaged in learning activities and show interest in them. Children's practitioners are familiar with them and ask them questions about their families and daily activities. This engagement, along with the successful implementation of a key worker system, contributes to the development of strong trust between children and staff. (REPORT FROM OFSTED, MAY 2009)
