From the Putnoe Woods Preschool
Putnoe Woods Preschool once existed in a completely other location as a completely separate preschool.
We started as the Rutherford Rascals in 1981, operating only brief morning and afternoon sessions out of the dining hall at Mark Rutherford School. We eventually secured a (temporary) building and garden area on the Mark Rutherford School grounds. As we progressed, we were able to accommodate up to 35 kids inside the building and start offering full-day sessions.
We expanded our hours and changed our status to a nonprofit limited company in February 2013.
It was time to move on to greener pastures because our building was beginning to exhibit major signs of ageing and the school wanted to use the land we were on.
In 2014, we relocated to a gorgeous, sizable new building a short distance away and changed our name to Putnoe Woods Preschool. We currently have 120 families enrolled with us and can accommodate up to 70 children every session. We are quite pleased of what we have accomplished in the last 36 years, and we will keep giving the neighborhood's children access to high-quality care.
At Putnoe Woods, we work hard to create an enjoyable, cost-effective, and welcoming early years setting where kids are accepted, appreciated, and encouraged to attain their best potential in a caring setting. We work hard to strengthen our relationships with parents because they are their children's first teachers.
