From the Potton Pre-School
In the charming small town of Potton, Bedfordshire, we are an Ofsted-registered preschool run by a charitable organisation. Children between the ages of 2.5 and 4 are welcome to participate in our classes, and we offer a secure and nurturing setting.
Since its founding in 1965, Potton Preschool has welcomed the kids and grandkids of numerous Potton families. The preschool relocated to a brand-new, specially constructed facility close to Potton Lower School in January 2010. The children have lots of room to play and explore both inside and outside thanks to the light and space in our room as well as the secure, fenced-off lawn and hard area outside.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and our ethos of learning through play uses structured play activities to promote the development of gross and fine motor skills, a vital stepping stone to children successfully using writing tools.
The "Curiosity Approach," which we have adopted, places an emphasis on natural, open-ended materials that foster children's creativity. For instance, a stick can be transformed into a wand, spoon, or sword, and a wooden block can be used as a stepping stone, brick to build a tower, or to pave a way to a castle! With this method, kids learn how to solve problems independently and cultivate their innate interest about the world around them.
Children socialise, learn about the world around them, appreciate and use number, form, and size, and develop their physical and creative talents while playing and conversing. But what matters most is that they never stop enjoying themselves.
Our continual dedication to staff development guarantees a balance between years of experience and the most cutting-edge methods of preschool instruction.
