A universal offer of 15 hours of paid childcare per week is currently available to all parents of three and four-year-old children. This offer is also extended to the most disadvantaged two-year-olds.
With effect from September 2017, the government launched a new programme called 30 Hours Childcare, which offers working parents of children ages three and four an additional 15 subsidised hours of childcare.
As a result, some parents can qualify for up to 30 hours per week of paid daycare.
