From the Polam School
Our Registered Nursery Provision (2 years and under) was the subject of an Ofsted inspection in March 2019.
We were thrilled that our nursery received an Outstanding rating in every category for the third consecutive inspection.
An unannounced Regulatory Compliance Inspection was conducted at Polam on May 10th and May 11th of this year.
On this occasion, there was no inspection of the registered provision (0-2 years).
We are quite pleased with the inspection's findings and the report that followed, which states that the school complied with all Independent School Standards Regulations.
The Schools Examination Service conducted an inspection of both the School and the Nursery in December 2016.
The School received a very strong Good rating for the remaining 3 areas, while the Nursery received an Outstanding rating across the board.
The children's good behaviour, their happiness and apparent enjoyment of school, the community's warmth, friendliness, and safety, and the fact that every child is recognised by every staff member are all frequently mentioned in the report.
All areas of students' personal development are greatly influenced by the school's ethos and goals. As students become highly recognised and appreciated as distinctive individuals in the tiny, close-knit community of the school, they develop greater self-worth and self-confidence.
We are obviously really proud of this inspection.
Although receiving such encouraging comments when the new Senior Leadership Team had only been in place for a short while can be uncomfortable, it makes us optimistic and thrilled about the future of Polam.
There are strong strengths in both teaching and assessment. Students make good progress in these areas because teachers are skilled and assured in teaching literacy and numeracy.
The extensive range of learning possibilities offered through extracurricular activities and organisations is one example of a component of the curriculum that is of exceptional quality.
The report demonstrates clearly that your children will be at the centre of everything we do, and that by joining Polam School, your child will be given every opportunity to flourish in a home from home environment.
