From the Plantpots Jesmond
In a brand-new building on the grounds of The Northumberland Club, Plantpots Jesmond builds on the popularity of our Great Park playgroup and preschool to offer the Jesmond community a distinctive Montessori nursery.
With flexible start and finish times for your kids, the facility is open all year long from Monday through Friday, 7.30am–6pm.
All of the kids in our care have the opportunity to grow at Plantpots Jesmond, a home away from home.
The Plantpots Jesmond building is a wonderful space with a garden and a variety of natural tools and materials that kids can use whenever they want.
The children learn about the natural world, risk management skills, and most significantly, how to take initiative to solve problems and work with others in a beautiful learning environment.
Children at Plantpots Jesmond are also assigned a keyworker when they enter nursery who will make sure their learning is geared towards their unique interests and stage of development. Both are led by a Montessori-trained teacher.
At Plantpots, we are dedicated to enhancing each child's potential as an individual and think that everyone has a right to the best opportunity to develop and realise their potential.
With a strong focus on learning through play, both inside and outside of the classroom, Plantpots Jesmond adheres to the Montessori philosophy and curriculum.
We encourage kids to become more independent by letting them make their own decisions about things like where they want to play, what activities they want to participate in, and how they want to eat their lunch, among other things.
We communicate with them in a respectful manner.
Children become independent when they realise they can complete tasks successfully on their own.
When it comes to the way they want their learning to go, teachers follow the lead of the students.
