Early detection of unique educational requirements is important to us.
Rachel Richardson is our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-Ordinator (SENDCO).
However, every professional in the environment attends to the children's particular educational requirements.
The kid's parents, their essential caregiver, and the SENDCO will have a conversation when there are concerns about the development of the child.
The SENDCO, in collaboration with the parents and keyperson, creates a SEND Support Plan when a child's development is deemed to be below that of their chronological age.
Half-termly (every 6 to 8 weeks), progress meetings are held to examine the children's development and the help they are getting.
A request for an initial assessment by an early years advisory teacher may be submitted to the Central Bedfordshire Early Years Allocation Meeting.
If required, we can request money to hire a second professional to help the kid in the environment.
We could also recommend the kid to other medical professionals, such a community paediatrician, an audiologist, or an optometrist.
A kid's specific care plan, which was created in collaboration with parents and medical specialists, addresses any medical requirements that the child may have.
EYAT will visit the setting to watch the kid and provide guidance while also offering support.
What type of assistance do we give a child who has physical needs?
We accommodate children with disabilities and specific educational requirements in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act (2010).
Practitioners are familiar with a variety of special educational requirements, and we acknowledge that every kid is unique, just like their needs.
