The YMCA Reading building's ground level is where Parkside Pre-School is situated. We are a safe and distinct establishment even though we share a building with the YMCA Reading.
We welcome kids with two-year funding as well as three- and four-year support. It is possible for the 15 hours to be split between mornings and afternoons. The younger students receive the afternoon lessons, while those starting school in September are offered the morning sessions.
We are open from Monday through Friday for two sessions. The morning session runs from 8:45 to 11:45, and the afternoon session (starting in September 2021) runs from 13:00 to 15:30. We can accommodate 18 students per session, including sponsored 2-year-olds.
We have two open-concept rooms. The kids have named one space the "Hedgehog Room," which allows for greater "messy play," and the other the "Squirrel Room." We have access to a sizable hall that we occasionally use twice a week for dancing or group activities. Additionally, we have a safe outside space with grass, hard surfaces, and a sizable covered area that the kids have dubbed "Fox Shelter."
Our modest staff now consists of 6 persons. We take great satisfaction in the many years of combined experience we have working with young children. Our credentials include NNEB Level 3 in Child Care and Education, B.Ed Hons in Primary Education, and HLTA status. We combine all of our expertise and stay current on training for many approaches to supporting children's learning, growth, and behaviour.
No matter which local primary school your child attends, we will work with them in the summer term. We transfer kids to all of the nearby primary schools.
